Speed & Agility Training in Westchester, NY
Speed changes games. Agility changes outcomes. At REP Athletics, our speed and agility training is built for athletes and active clients who want sharper footwork, faster first-step reactions, cleaner change of direction, and movement that holds up under pressure. We serve athletes across Westchester from our Larchmont facility and build each program around how the athlete moves, what the sport demands, and what needs to improve next. Take the first step toward faster movement and better athletic control with a customized assessment.
What Our Speed and Agility Training Is Built To Improve
Speed is not just about sprinting harder, and agility is not just about moving your feet faster. Real improvement comes from how the body organizes force, position, timing, and direction.
Our training is designed to improve:
- acceleration and first-step quickness
- deceleration and body control
- change-of-direction mechanics
- footwork and coordination
- reaction speed
- lateral movement
- explosive speed training for sport carryover
- confidence under game-like movement demands
This is why our sports performance training goes beyond conditioning. We focus on movement quality, force production, and repeatable athletic patterns that translate to actual performance.
Who This Training Is For
This service is built for athletes who need movement to become a strength, not a limitation.
It is a strong fit for:
- youth athletes developing foundational movement skills
- middle school and high school athletes preparing for higher-level competition
- field and court sport athletes who rely on quick cuts and fast reactions
- athletes returning to performance work after a setback
- active adults who want more speed, coordination, and athletic movement capacity
Our specialties and coaching model let us work with both developing athletes and more advanced performers, which is why youth speed and agility training and higher-level sports performance training can live under the same roof without feeling generic.
What a Strong Program Includes
- sprint mechanics
- start-position work
- resisted and assisted acceleration drills
- agility drills for athletes
- reaction and change-of-direction progressions
- multi-planar movement work
- jump and landing control
- athletic movement training that improves coordination and positioning
- progressive explosive speed training
How Our Speed and Agility Training Is Different
A lot of speed sessions make athletes tired. That is not the same as making them faster.
We build training around how movement actually works. That means looking at mechanics, positioning, force transfer, and how well the athlete can organize movement under load and under speed. It also means knowing when to slow a drill down, when to challenge it, and when to progress the athlete into more demanding patterns.
Our system blends sports performance training with movement quality, so the athlete is not just doing drills for the sake of doing drills. Every rep should have a reason behind it.
What the Process Looks Like
Strong training starts with seeing what the athlete can and cannot do well yet.
Assessment
We begin with an evaluation of movement patterns, athletic capacity, strengths, and weak points.
Program Design
From there, we build a plan around the athlete’s sport, current level, and performance priorities.
Guided Sessions
Sessions may include acceleration work, agility drills for athletes, force-production work, reaction training, and movement progressions.
Progression
As the athlete improves, the work becomes more demanding, more specific, and more transferable to sport.
Ongoing Refinement
We continue adjusting the program based on how the athlete moves, responds, and develops.
That process helps us coach speed in a way that is more precise, more measurable, and more useful than generic drill circuits.
Why Athletes Choose REP Athletics for Speed and Agility Training
Athletes and parents come to us because they want training that feels intentional. They want more than cones, ladders, and sweat. They want to know that the work is actually improving movement.
They choose REP because we offer:
- coaching rooted in movement science
- performance work tied to real athletic demands
- individualized progressions rather than one-size-fits-all drills
- a training environment that blends mechanics, mobility, and output
- support for both performance and durability
This is a big reason our Semi-Private Training and broader coaching model work well for athletes who need structure, challenge, and attention to detail in the same place.
Meet the Team Behind the Training
Our speed and agility training is grounded in the REP Athletics system developed by founder Geoff Rose, whose background in strength and conditioning, osteopathic training, and structural movement work shapes the way we build athletic performance from the ground up. Robert Kiernan then brings that approach to life on the coaching floor with his background in baseball, football, and exercise science, helping athletes improve speed, control, and movement efficiency in ways that carry over to sport.
Geoff Rose – Founder
Geoff started REP Athletics with one goal: help people move better through movement science. He specializes in soma training methods that support back pain relief and athletic performance.
His approach follows the idea that “structure dictates function.” This means when your body is aligned well, it works well. Geoff combines analytical and segmental training with strength work to help you perform your best.
Nicholas Gadson
Nicholas focuses on conditioning and movement coaching. He works with clients who want to build strength while moving better.
His sessions blend segmental training with fitness maintenance. Nicholas helps clients build a strong foundation for everything they do.
Darryl Taylor
Darryl brings experience in sports performance to REP Athletics. He works with athletes who want to reach maximum levels of performance.
His training focuses on body awareness and specific movements that improve speed and power. Darryl helps athletes of all levels perform their best.
Robert Kiernan
Robert has a strong sports background in baseball and football, earning a baseball scholarship to Dominican College before finishing his collegiate career at Lehman College.
He brings his exercise science education and passion for performance to REP as the leading Sports Performance Coach, using strength and mobility training to help clients move better, stay resilient, and perform with confidence.

What Can Affect the Cost
The cost of a speed and agility program depends on the format and level of support involved.
Factors that can affect pricing include:
- one-on-one versus small-group coaching
- session frequency
- how individualized the program needs to be
- whether other services are built into the plan
- the athlete’s goals and timeline
The best way to understand fit and pricing is to start with an assessment so we can recommend the right level of support.
Frequently asked questions
Is this only for competitive athletes?
No. It is a strong fit for competitive athletes, but we also work with developing athletes and active clients who want better movement, coordination, and speed.
What sports benefit most from speed and agility training?
Field sports, court sports, and any activity that depends on quick acceleration, reaction time, and change of direction can benefit from this kind of work.
Is youth speed and agility training different from adult performance training?
Yes. Younger athletes usually need more emphasis on movement quality, coordination, and foundational mechanics, while older athletes may need more sport-specific loading and progression.
Do you only use ladders and cone drills?
No. Those tools may be used, but the program is much broader than that. We coach mechanics, force production, deceleration, reaction, and movement control, not just drill completion.
Can this help with explosiveness too?
Yes. Explosive speed training is often part of the plan, especially when an athlete needs stronger acceleration, more powerful movement, and better transfer to sport.
How do I get started?
The best first step is a performance assessment so we can see how you move, identify what needs work, and build the right training plan from there.
Train Faster, Move Sharper, Perform Better
Speed should feel teachable. Agility should feel trainable. When the right system is in place, athletes can improve how they move, how quickly they react, and how confidently they perform.
